Unique Features of the Sentricon System

The Sentricon System has provided superior termite protection since its introduction in 1994 by Dow AgroSciences. This termite baiting system was developed as an effective alternative to liquid termiticide soil applications. Unlike other treatments that may not eliminate entire colonies, the Sentricon System has been verified and supported by more than 70 published peer-reviewed scientific articles.

Many historical and popular sites utilize the Sentricon System for its unmatched termite elimination and protection properties. These properties include the White House, the Statue of Liberty and Independence Hall. Nearly 2 million properties trust the Sentricon System for their termite protection.

How Does It Work?

The Sentricon System uses a baiting technique that targets termite behavior and biology. When termites forage for food sources, they will leave a scent trail upon a successful search. This will eventually lead more termites to the baiting system and increase exposure to the active ingredient.

The active ingredient in the Sentricon System is called noviflumuron, which is a chitin synthesis inhibitor. As termites feed on this bait material, they will return to the colony nest and regurgitate to feed other termites. When this happens, the noviflumuron will be distributed among the entire colony; effectively eliminating all members.

Is It Effective?

The Sentricon System is the most extensively tested termite control product currently in existence. Numerous studies have determined that the unique baiting matrix and baiting technique are an effective source of termite control and elimination. Even when a colony is eliminated, the Sentricon System functions as an ongoing deterrent.

Neighboring colonies may still exist after the original colony is eradicated. Without continued treatment, new termite colonies could threaten your home. It is important to ensure ongoing monitoring and re-baiting continue to remain effective. Nearly 60% of colonies introduced to this baiting system will be eliminated during the first quarter.
